Luján Applauds Confirmation of Jessica Rosenworcel to Serve as FCC Commissioner

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), Chair of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Media, and Broadband, issued the following statement applauding the confirmation of Jessica Rosenworcel to serve as commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC):

“Today’s confirmation of Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel to continue leading the FCC marks the most significant commitment to broadband accessibility and affordability in decades,” said Luján. “As a career-long champion of tackling the homework gap and getting our country 100% connected, her strong leadership is precisely what communities across this country need, including those in rural and Tribal lands.”

“While serving as Acting Chairwoman, Rosenworcel gained ground on bridging the digital divide with just four commissioners. Now, with her successful confirmation – and hopefully soon with five full commissioners – I’m eager to continue our work, as we have done for years, to get New Mexico and our country 100% connected.”
